How to configure address and payment settings in checkout!

The checkout settings control a number of attributes for the checkout page, including the address management and the payment fields. The B2B Checkout must be enabled to configure and utilize the additional features included on this page/

Enabling B2B Check Out

  1. Navigate to Settings > Checkout within the B2B Edition App.

  2. Turn on the B2B Checkout by switching the lever

  3. Select "Enable the B2B Checkout Now" in the pop-up.

  4. You can now access and configure the other checkout settings on this page!

Available Checkout Options for Address Management

These settings can be configured via Settings > Checkout > Address Section settings

  • Shipping

    • Allow customers to enter a new address for billing

    • Allow customer to select “Save this address in my address book”

    • Allow customer to select “My billing address is the same as my shipping address”

  • Billing

    • Allow customers to enter a new address for shipping

    • Allow customer to select “Save this address in my address book”

Payment Section Configurations

Under the payment section, you can enable the checkout to accept box PO payments or add any other additional text fields for payment.

To enable "PO Payments":

  1. Navigate to Settings > Checkout within the B2B Edition App.

  2. Click the switch to enable the extra text field for Purchase Order.

  3. You must first enable the "Check" payment method inside BigCommerce. Navigate inside BigCommerce to Settings> Setup > Payments > Offline Payment Methods > and enable "Check" method.

  4. Navigate to "Check Settings" and add a "Display Name" that indicates this payment is for a PO Payment.

  5. Edit the Text Field if you want to change the wording displayed to the user in checkout.

  6. Test this inside the checkout on your website to confirm functionality and visibility!

    ** Note: Only B2B company account users can view and use the PO payments method.


To enable an "Additional Text Field":

Let’s consider a case where you need to add an optional extra packing information field for the customers to enter on the Checkout page.

  1. Enable an additional Text Field and edit the Display Name of the Additional Field to "Extra Packing Information"

  2. Select "Optional"

  3. Check the storefront checkout page

The text will display in the "Order Comments" section found in the BigCommerce Admin portal > Orders.

You can also add additional fields in various other places in the Extra Fields Settings Page.

To disable "PO Payments":

  1. Navigate to Settings > Checkout within the B2B Edition App.

  2. Click the switch to disable the extra text field for Purchase Order.

  3. You must also disable the "Check" payment method inside BigCommerce. Navigate inside BigCommerce to Settings> Setup > Payments > Offline Payment Methods > and disable "Check" method.

  4. PO Payments have now been removed! Test to verify!

    ** Note: Only B2B company account users can view and use the PO payments method.
