Address Book Management for a Company
Your B2B customers may have several billing and shipping addresses for their businesses. As a Store Administrator, you can add, maintain, and organize Company addresses. This can be used to tag the Company Name, Location Name, Organization Name, Company Code, or other identifiers for this particular address. Adding an address label helps sort or determine what each address is for.
To view a Company’s address book from within B2B Edition:
Go to the Companies area of the dashboard and select View Details from the Company’s action menu
2. Click the "Address Book" tab to access a list of all Company addresses and click the Add "New Address" button to add new ones
**** An address label is an optional field that can be used to organize the different billing and shipping addresses in a Company’s account. This can be used to tag the Company Name, Location Name, Organization Name, Company Code, or other identifiers for this particular address.
3. Click "Edit" from the Action menu to modify existing addresses
4. Click the "Set as default billing" and "Set as default shipping" buttons to assign default addresses, which appear on the right side.
**** The default addresses will pre-populate in the shipping address and the billing address fields on the customer's checkout page.
**** The B2B Edition one-page checkout needs to be configured; the Address Book Management settings (Settings > General > Address Book Management) needs to be enabled for this feature to work properly.
Integration Tips
A merchant may utilize both B2C (Bigcommerce accounts exclusively) and B2B (B2B Edition company accounts). It is important to note that B2B Edition Company-Level Address book is using a completely separate database from BigCommerce Customer Individual Address book. There is no data sync between these two entities. Where data comes from depends on the type of account. Guest and B2C Account addresses are located in the BigCommerce database, while B2B company addresses are located in B2B Edition databases. Please see our developer documentation for the address API.
